Pan Mee @ Ara Damansara

30 12 2009

Since my office is nearby Ara Damansara, I tend to frequent this place quite often for lunch. One of my favourite meal is this ‘pan mee’ or flat flour noodle at Restoran Ming Yang located at the back of NZX (Niuzexui) Commercial Centre. What makes this noodle so nice is the ‘springy’ texture of its thin noodle.

I prefer the dry version of pan mee rather than the soup. So what is important is the black seasoning sauce they use to mix the noodle with. I am glad to say that the taste is just right without being overly salty nor bland.

The anchovies and fried brown garlic gives this dish the extra ‘zing’.

At RM 4.50 per plate, I would say that the portion is quite big since I usually order extra noodle. What’s more, the soup contains a lot of vegetables and fish meat.

Definitely a place to go for pan mee lovers!

Putrajaya

29 12 2009

While looking at my files, I realised that I had forgotten to post some of the pictures I took at Putrajaya while doing the photoshoot last two weeks. Putrajaya is really a nice place to take landscape pictures. Too bad the skies weren’t that beautiful that day…

Street shooting @ Kuala Lumpur

29 12 2009

It has been a while since I went for street shooting in Kuala Lumpur. I woke up early last Sunday and head straight down to Masjid Jamek station via the LRT. Here are some of the pictures taken.

Jump shots!

28 12 2009

Here are some crazy jump shots I took for my colleagues during last weekend shooting at Kuala Lumpur. Both Dion and Evelyn were nice enough to jump a few times for me to get these pictures. Haha…

Rooibos Kafe @ Ara Damansara

27 12 2009

Last week, I stopped by Rooibos Kafe for lunch after my Morib trip. Feeling pretty exhausted and hungry, all I could think of was food. In case you are wondering, Rooibos Kafe shares the same name as Rooibos tea which originates from South Africa. From what I read on the Internet, the tea is caffeine free and contains some sort of health properties to alleviate stomach cramps, insomnia, high blood pressure and even eczema.

Being my second time to this place, I knew that their garlic bread was worth ordering. The deep yellow texture on the bread indicates the generous amount of butter and garlic mixture they used for them.

I also had the grilled BBQ chicken which came with black pepper sauce.

There were also some broccoli and potato wedges.

I must say, the wedges were very tasty as they added some sort of special flour to fry with it.

My girlfriend took the deep fried fish and wedges. The fish fillet kind of reminds me of chicken nuggets but it tastes good nonetheless.

The fried fish was also accompanied with coleslaw.

The wedges were so good (yeah I mentioned it again) that we had another basket of them.

Hotel Impian Morib, Banting

24 12 2009

Here are some pictures taken at Impian Morib which is newly opened hotel along the Morib Beach. I was quite surprise to see a nice resort in the middle of nowhere, especially when Morib isn’t really a developed area yet.

Somehow, the swimming pool water was rather murky on that day as the water pump system was out of order. That gave me an opportunity to take a reflection of its building there.

It was very quiet morning. All I could hear was the sound of wave from the nearby beach.

The place sure looks pretty nice for a weekend holiday. The room rates are around RM 180++ per night. Here are some other pictures taken.

Amelia @ Putrajaya

21 12 2009

These are some pictures taken for Amelia last Sunday. It was totally an impromptu model shooting event as I didn’t expect my friend to bring her along when we were at Putrajaya for photoshoot.

Kampung Batu Laut

21 12 2009

I often come across comments that my blog is mostly filled with food pictures. This is undoubtedly true as I usually don’t get to shoot anything much except pictures of my lunch or dinner. A few days back, I tried taking some landscape shots for a change. My journey to Morib started before dawn as it was quite a distance away from where I am staying. Along the rural road leading to the beach, the morning daylight cast a golden hue across the misty backdrop.

I got lost along the way and actually drove past the beach. We stopped by at Kampung Batu Laut which is located along the shoreline of Klang and around 3km from Morib Beach.

There were some fishing boats and villagers chatting as we walked around the place. Here is another picture of the area before I drove back to Morib Beach again.

Morib Beach

While strolling along Morib Beach, I took some pictures of my girlfriend underneath the trees. It was a fun holiday trip despite having to start our journey at the wee hours of the morning. I will upload more pictures later.

Niro Fico @ Damansara Heights

18 12 2009

While a pizza costing RM 36 may be rather expensive for a typical wage earner like yours truly, Niro Fico at Damansara Heights has justified their prices through its reputation of serving authentic Italian wood-fire pizza. Carrying a tagline of “Bringing you all the best things about Niro Italian Restaraunt to Kuala Lumpur, the place boasts highly trained chefs that can whipped up delicious pizzas unlike any other places.

I was lucky to get a chance to try their Pizza Marittima yesterday when my girlfriend packed it for lunch yesterday. It comes with a simple brown box which can be deceptive as the content itself is far from being plain!

Marittima comes with tomato, mozzarella and a mixture of seafood. And this is where Niro Fico pizza stands out from the rest. The generous amount of clams, squids, prawns, mussels are really mind blowing.

Just look at how big these prawns are.

Every inch of the pizza is filled with seafood.

It is like a big round piece of seafood galore…

And the taste? Well, I have never been to Italy before but I reckon that the taste is truly great. The only downside to this is that once you had tried this, you will never go for Pizza Hut or Dominoes anymore. I will leave you here with some of the other scrumptious pictures taken.
