Buffet Dinner @ Raffles Town Club

10 05 2010

We were fortunate to have Uncle Liong and Auntie Serene bringing us over for dinner at Raffles Town Club on our second night at Singapore. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised to find a good spread of buffet food at the restaurant.

The food was pretty good and one of the most delicious dish there was the pork satay.

Yes, you read that right. The meat is really juicy and sweet.

Using pork as the meat brought a whole new level of taste to the usual satay that we normally eat in Malaysia. Highly recommended!

Candid shot @ Orchard Road

Here is another candid shot at Orchard Road, Singapore. On any weekends, the street is pack with tourists and locals alike. The weather was really hot that day but luckily tall trees provide some shades which is a welcome relief.

Candid shot @ Changi Airport

Amidst of the busy scene at Terminal 3 Changi Airport in Singapore last week, there was a spot near the lift which were relatively empty. I took this candid shot using a large aperture to blur out the background. I will post more pictures of Terminal 3 shortly…

Marina Bay Sands @ Singapore #2

This is one of the picture showing the work in progress in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. I believe the whole project will look truly amazing once it is completed. I also posted this shot in my other blog.

Taste Paradise @ Ion Orchard

3 05 2010

I must admit  that my photography skills was rather rusty when I got my  hands on a second hand Nikon D300 a few days back. It took me a while to get used to taking pictures using the viewfinder unlike the conventional point and shoot camera via my iPhone.

Anyway, here are some pictures taken at Taste Paradise which is located at Ion Orchard in Singapore. Uncle Liong and Auntie Serene was nice enough to treat us a meal at this very classy restaurant. The food is good and I heard it is one of the best dim sum restaurant around.

Glutinous rice wrapped with lotus leaf was really tasty.

Most of the time, I was too busy configuring the camera settings and forgot to take down the name of the food we ate. Lol. This is the deep fried prawn with mango roll which comes highly recommended by yours truly.

The roast duck is another dish which I like a lot. The sight of the dish is enough to make everyone feeling hungry!

I can’t remember what this noodle is called but it has little mushrooms. Good stuff indeed.

This is another unique dim sum with soft tofu inside.

Overall it was a very good meal. I am glad that we were able to try out the food at Taste Paradise.

Marina Bay Sands @ Singapore

2 05 2010

I went down to Singapore over the weekend to purchase a 2nd hand D300 from in-law’s relatives. Overall it was a a fantastic trip. Not only were they extremely accommodating, we were also lucky enough to have them showing us around the island.

One of the main attraction in Singapore is the Marina Bay Sands. We were told that this is an integrated resort developed by Las Vegas Sands. Only phase one of the project is completed with the hotel visibly seen from a distance. The architecture is amazing and according to Wikipedia, this is the most expensive stand-alone integrated resort property ever built.
