Ka Fei Tiam @ Subang Jaya

4 07 2010

Having been to Ka Fei Tiam recently, I thought it would be a good idea to eat there again, albeit trying something different this time around. After ordering their Western dishes, my impression of this place wasn’t as positive as compared to my first visit.

I should have know that Ka Fei Tiam being a local coffee shop isn’t going to offer any good Western dishes. The Mongolian Chicken Chop (RM 13.50) didn’t taste great at all. In fact, for the price I that I was paying for, I would have expected something better.

The Oriental Chicken Chop RM 13.50) also failed to impress me. Whoever came up with the dish must have a good explanation of putting the word ‘Oriental’ into a Western menu. The chicken tasted as if it just came out from the freezer for deep frying. The tomato sauce was the same as the sweet and sour pork gravy. Talk about using the same type of sauce for cost cutting measures… or a good reason for having the word ‘Oriental’.

Both dish came with the usual french fries and coleslaw which were at least edible compared to the meat.
