Restoran Ming Yang @ Damansara Ara

3 07 2010

On weekdays, I would usually drive to Ara Damansara for lunch. Since it is just a stone throw away from where I am working currently, I find it convenient to drop by there for a quick meal rather than rushing back to office if I would to eat somewhere further away.

Anyhow, Restoran Ming Yang, located at the back of the now defunct NZX building has a steady stream of customers during lunch hour. The whole road will be practically filled with cars as the restaurant offers quite a decent choice of food.

Here are some of the food that I had tried at this coffee shop before.

Thai fried chicken rice is sold by one of the stall located right at the back of the restaurant. You have to walk right to the end to spot it. Despite frequenting this place often, I had only recently tried their dish and found it to be quite alright. Be prepared to wait though as each dish is prepared individually.

Chunks of chicken are laid on top of the fried rice.

The chicken are nicely fried and tasted quite good.

The provide two kind of chilli sauce to accompany the rice.

The claypot noodles are also worth a try. I usually go for the soup-based yee mee version. Since the claypot is served hot, the texture of the noodle will be semi-crispy.

To top it up, the egg will be half cooked under the steaming hot soup which makes it really yummy.

The dry version of claypot noodle is also noteworthy.

I normally go for the spinach noodle which is green in colour.

However, once it is mixed with black sauce you can hardly distinguish its colour. The egg will be half cooked by the time it was served.

I also love the fact that they added mince pork and char siew.

For something different, there is another stall that sells dry prawn mee.

The noodle came with slices of chicken and prawns.

Honestly, it wasn’t as good as I expect it to be. The taste was a bit weird and didn’t go to well with my taste bud.

Word of advice. Go for the soup based version instead.
