Old Ipoh Town #2

Here is another picture taken at the old Ipoh town. The archway leading to a long corridor certainly looks old with foliage growing along the peeling wall paint. It makes me wonder what lies beyond the walkway…

Old Ipoh Town

Being a bit tired of uploading food pictures, I decided to take a break and look at some of the shots I took during my short weekend trip to Ipoh last week. An extract of Wikipedia’s article on Ipoh:-

“In the 1950s, Ipoh was characterised by the proliferation of large numbers of cinema halls, amusement parks, cabarets  and night life which was unrivalled on the peninsula. Two of the largest entertainment groups then, the Cathay Organisation and Shaw Brothers Company had set up chains of cinemas here.

With the collapse of tin prices and the closure of the tin mines in the late 1970s, Ipoh’s growth stagnated and resulted in migration to other parts of Malaysia (particularly metropolitan areas such as Kuala Lumpur) and Singapore”.

Marina Bay Sands @ Singapore #2

This is one of the picture showing the work in progress in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. I believe the whole project will look truly amazing once it is completed. I also posted this shot in my other blog.

Marina Bay Sands @ Singapore

I went down to Singapore over the weekend to purchase a 2nd hand D300 from in-law’s relatives. Overall it was a a fantastic trip. Not only were they extremely accommodating, we were also lucky enough to have them showing us around the island.

One of the main attraction in Singapore is the Marina Bay Sands. We were told that this is an integrated resort developed by Las Vegas Sands. Only phase one of the project is completed with the hotel visibly seen from a distance. The architecture is amazing and according to Wikipedia, this is the most expensive stand-alone integrated resort property ever built.

Putrajaya Bridge

The scenery at Putrajaya never fail to amaze me. This picture was taken a while back and I decided to post this up. It was my first time driving to this spot and admiring the unique architecture on the bridge near to the Putrajaya Convention Centre.

Here are some shots I took at Putrajaya while bringing my cousin and his friend from US for a drive. It was around 7:00 p.m. when we reached the place. The sunset provided a nice lighting to shoot against the architecture there.

Last weekend, I drove down to Putrajaya again for a photoshoot session. This time, my colleague who just bought this Canon 7D came along as he wanted to have a field test for his brand new toy. Here are some of the pictures that I took around the place.

Christmas @ Pavillion

The front entrance of Pavillion is decorated with really tall curtains on the sides which opens up to the main foyer area where christmas trees are lighted up. It was really a breathtaking view and I quickly took a shot of it.

I shot this picture while doing a photoshoot at Technology Park Malaysia last Sunday. The strong curves and lines provided a nice abstract feel to the whole scene.
