Ravi’s @ Petaling Jaya

31 08 2010

Ravi’s, located at 3 2 Square Petaling Jaya remains one of my favourite place for breakfast. I have blogged about it previously and hence, I won’t elaborate on how delicious their food is.

This time around, I decided to try their Coconut Appam (RM 1). Interestingly, Appam is made from fermented rice flour. This explains the slight sourish taste when I ate it. Not that it is a bad thing as I enjoyed eating a simple meal like this.

A trip to Ravi’s won’t be complete without eating their Roti Canai (RM 1). It was freshly cooked with flaky textures and a slight crispiness on the edge.

Besides the plain version, their Roti Canai with egg and onion (RM 2.70) was pretty good too.

And besides the great food, the friendly staff at Ravi’s will always be ready to serve you with a smile!

Hawker stall @ Jalan Klang Lama

31 08 2010

Every time when I drive along Old Klang Road, I can’t help but to notice scores of people eating at a make shift stall opposite the BHP Petrol station near to the turning to Kuchai Lama from Old Klang Road. Hence, I decided to try out the food one evening just to find out for myself if the food are worth eating. There are actually two stalls there. One is selling ‘Tai Chow’ while the other, Wanton Noodle.

First up, I ordered ‘Wat Tan Hor’ or Flat Rice Noodle with Egg which costs RM 6 per plate.

One of the main criteria for a good plate of Wat Tan Hor is the smoothness of the noodle.

Here, the dish did not disappoint at all. In fact, the noodle has ample ‘Wok Hei’ which made it so tasty. The prawns were also fresh.

Not forgetting, the slices of pork…

The Wanton Noodle (RM 5) was equally good. Slices of barbecued pork complement the dish very well.

Although not as good as Meng Kee Wanton Noodle, it was nevertheless still delicious.

The two stalls are opened from evening till late at night. Good place for people hunting for food at the wee hours of the night.
