Tappers Caffe @ Bangsar South

10 08 2010

Tappers Caffee offers a kopitiam style dining experience reminiscent of the good old colonial days. The interior is charmingly designed with rattan chairs, white marble tables and old photographs which exude a warm colonial ambiance once you stepped into this cafe.

One of their recommended dish is the Tappers Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM 10.80).

Described as northern Hainan-style chicken chop, the dish came with a generous serving of potatoes, peas as well as carrots.

The chicken was nicely cooked albeit a bit cold. Nevertheless, the potatoes are soft and complimented the gravy nicely.

Too bad the carrot looks a bit stale in comparison.

We also tried the Soda Goo Leng Ping (RM 2.80). Using a mixture of red syrup with milk, the drink is reminiscent of ‘Syrup Bandung’ which is commonly served at Mamak stalls.

Tappers Kopi (RM 2.70) was pretty aromatic.

The Hainanese Fried Mee is also another noteworthy dish.

Stir fried using thick yellow noodle, the inclusion of chicken, fish and cuttlefish made this meal really appetizing.

For those who like the extra ‘kick’, the sambal willl definitely suit their taste.

I like the fact that the noodle was not too wet or dry.

Overall, I find Tappers Caffe to be a nice place for dining. The reasonable price with nice ambiance were definitely a plus point.
