I have fond memories of the delicious Pan Mee and Pork Noodles Soup at Sun Sea Restaurant at Taman OUG. Many years ago, I used to frequent this area and never miss the chance to order either one of them. For your information both of the noodles are sold by two different hawkers under the same roof.
Located just opposite of the OUG market, throngs of customers are usually seen sitting down in this old coffee shop during lunch hours. I was lucky to get a seat today especially on a Sunday afternoon when most people are out eating instead of cooking at home. Don’t expect air-conditioning here as the place is a barebone restaurant with ceiling fans. While it is lacking of comfort, the tasty meals make the visit worth the sweat.
The large Pan Mee (RM 5.50) came shortly after we ordered. As you can see, fried anchovies are place on top of the noodles together with slices of mushrooms.
There were generous amount of seafood such as prawns and squid as well as pork.
The soup is tasty since there are so many ingredients cooked together with the noodle. Sun Sea Pan Mee has always been (in my honest opinion), the best I have tried in KL so far.
The Pork Noodles Soup is equally popular here. You can see many customers patiently queuing up for their take-away which is a sure sign of how good the business is. There were some pork lard on top which gives the extra ‘umph’.
The pork is tender and comes in chunky sizes.
They also put a lot of prawns and squids. For RM 5.50, it is definitely worth the price. I love the soup which is unmistakably sweet and tasty.
If you want to give this place a try, make sure you go there early. Don’t be surprise if you need to wait a while before the food is served.
